It's all about fruit in the lead up to Christmas with the demand for traditional festive fare pushing up prices, with the best buys to be found in the salad and vegetable lines this week.
Celery and eggplant are plentiful and cheap.
You will find value for money Asian vegetables, beetroot, fennel, leeks, snow peas, silverbeet, squash, sweet corn, zucchini, mushrooms, onions and pumpkin.
Broccoli has reduced in price and is now more affordable.
Machine picked beans are hard to find and handpicked are expensive.
Expect to pay top prices for tomatoes and avocados but lettuce, salad mix, cucumber and eshallots are reasonably priced and of good quality.
All herbs are available and reasonably priced.
There are two prices for mangoes, peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums and cherries, with the best offerings expensive and the poorer quality at a reasonable price.
Expect to pay expensive prices for lemons, navel oranges, grapes, figs, rockmelon, pears, pineapples, passionfruit and pawpaw.
Watermelon is the most expensive it has been all year.
The best apples are firmly priced to expensive.
All berries are firmly priced, with the strawberries reducing in size from the large golf ball sized fruit filling punnets from recent days.
Valencia oranges are firmly priced but bananas, limes and kiwifruit are most affordable.
For something different on your fruit salad platter, look for lychees, pomegranate, black sapote, soursop and dragon fruit but they are expensive.
